My Bio
Ever since I can remember I've been drawing pictures of the characters in the books I read. For a while I wanted to be an illustrator when I grew up, because I liked the thought of drawing book characters as a job. (I also wanted to be able to make them look right - I have a thing about inaccurate illustrations!) I don't really want to be a professional illustrator anymore, but I love creating pictures of my favorite characters and sharing them with other people who love the same books.

Favourite Visual Artist
Trina Schart Hyman
Favourite Bands / Musical Artists
David Arkenstone, Enya, Tannahill Weavers, Natalie McMaster...
Favourite Books
There are way too many to even list!

Patricia C. Wrede, Diana Wynne Jones, Terry Pratchett, Sharon Shinn, Georgette Heyer...

Other Interests

Apparently I haven't done a journal entry since last June! I've been drawing a lot more over the last year or so, and I think it's partly due to having DeviantART as a place to show things off.  Pretty much everything I draw is fan art, either of my own characters or somebody else's, and half the fun of the latter is sharing it with other people who know the characters.  DA is good for inspiration, too; browsing other people's art gives me ideas for mine, as well as letting me see how they do things (oh, that's a really good way to draw a nose, I should try that...).  My drawing skills have definitely improved over that time, but I still hav

New scans

With my dad's help, I've made darker, clearer scans of all my drawings and uploaded them in place of the old ones.  They're much easier to see now, and - I hope - nicer-looking!

I just joined DeviantART, and I think I'm going to like it here.  Sharing my book character drawings with other fans, and exploring other people's fan art, is an exciting prospect.  I want to apologize for the bad quality of my scans, though; this was the first time I'd ever scanned anything, and between that and the fact that I mostly work in fairly light pencil, the drawings came out practically invisible.  I'm hoping to replace these scans with clearer ones at some point - once I figure out how.  :-p

 Thank you for the favorites, it really means ever so much to me that you enjoy my artwork! I invite you to add me to your watch so that you can see all the future beaded and stitched pieces I have planned! :blowkiss: Just think of the sparkles... :squee:
Thank you so much for the watch!
Thanks for the :+fav: on "The Minuet" =) I'm glad you liked it!
You're welcome!  I love both the Regency era and dressed-up mice, and that drawing is the perfect combination.
I can see from your gallery that you like Georgette Heyer – definitely one of my favourite authors, and she's definitely at least partially responsible for my default sketch state being 'girl in pretty historical costume' =P
She's one of my top favorites too - as a matter of fact, her books were what got me into the Regency era in the first place!
