This drawing was inspired by this page of Kate Ashwin's marvelous webcomic Widdershins, where Ben and his cousin Verity do a little reminiscing:
VERITY: It's just like those hikes Granddad would take us on, remember?
BEN: Oh God.. those.
VERITY: Him and Grandma would be miles off ahead, Blake and Bryony miles behind..
BEN: Heh, the twins would turn back after ten minutes, usually. Complaining all the way.
VERITY: Then us, in the middle.
So here they are, Benji and Vee in the middle together.
